High-Grade Gold Intercepts Near Björkdal

Mandalay Resources reported the final results from its regional exploration program testing selected targets in the vicinity of the Björkdal gold mine in northern Sweden. At the Lapptjärn target, drilling intersected structurally controlled gold mineralization with grades of up to 7.05m @ 5.3g/t Au. Mineralization at the prospect appears to be defined by higher-grade lodes striking over 200m that remain open at depth.

A few kilometers to the southeast, drilling a the Granholm prospect intersected mineralized quartz veins with the best intercept returning 0.5m @ 14.9g/t Au. At the nearby Tarsnäs prospects, drilling tested the contact between the Skellefte and Vargfors group, returning a zone of arsenopyrite-rich quartz veins in addition to intervals of semi-massive sulfide mineralization.

The company plans to follow up the new findings at Lapptjärn and Tarsnäs with induced polarization and electromagnetic surveys.
