Gold Line Resources reported high-grade drill results from its maiden drill program at the Paubäcken Au project, in northern Sweden. Drill hole PAU21003 intersected “22.5 m core length averaging 2.40 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au); including a higher grade zone of 9.5 m averaging 4.6 g/t Au”. The drill hole was targeting a 1.43g/t Au anomaly, previously identified in a bottom of till sampling program, and formed part of the 5 hole, 670m drill program, with phase two scheduled for early summer 2022.
According to the company, the gold mineralization sits in a strongly sheared amphibolite with “intense biotite and calc-silicate” alteration. Drill hole PAU21002, drilled 450m to the southeast, intersected several small zones of low-grade gold mineralization, that appear, however, associated with similar alteration styles and host lithologies. Assays are pending for two more holes, with PAU21004, representing a step out to the high-grade intersection in PAU21003.
