District Metals reported the intersection of strong visual sulfide mineralization at its polymetallic Tomtebo project. The 61.5m intercept (210-271.5m) in hole TOM22-038 consists of disseminated, stringer, and lesser semi-massive to massive sulfides and is interpreted to represent footwall style mineralization, overlain by an approx. 2.7m wide zone of massive sulfides (271.5-274.2m). The 2.7m wide intersection represents a 40m step-out below a previous massive sulfide hit in hole TOM21-025. Notably, the downhole contact of the massive sulfide lens appears to be faulted off and the intersected massive sulfide contains relics of the volcanic host rock, indicating that only the basal part of the lens was intersected in this hole, whereas the major part was displaced.
While awaiting assay results and conducting downhole geophysical surveys before follow-up drilling at Tomtebo, the drill rig has been moved to test the company’s Gruvberget prospect in western Bergslagen.
