Study Shows Near 100% REE Recovery

Eurobattery Minerals reported on a new method that could allow for nearly 100% recovery of REEs in the Fetsjön deposit in northern Sweden. The results come from a research partnership with the Uppsala University and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and indicate that the REE-bearing carbonate-apatite shale at Fetsjön is particularly well suited for leaching of REEs without the need for mechanical pretreatment and heating.

In the next step, a detailed characterization of the REE-bearing minerals is planned and the possibility of a large-scale pilot plant is currently being investigated.
