High-Grade Gold at Björkdal

Mandalay Resources reported new high-grade assay results from its Björkdal gold mine in northern Sweden. Highlights from extension drilling of the central zone include 47.7 g/t Au over 11.7m, including 1056 g/t Au over 0.40m, with an estimated true width of 5.85m in drill hole MU21-052 and 47.5 g/t Au over 6.4m, including 716 g/t Au over 0.31m (with an estimated true width of 4.11m) in MU21-047. These encouraging depth extensions from the eastern part of the deposit led the company to file for a new mining concession application with relevant authorities and will be the focus of more drilling throughout 2022.

The company further summarized recent geological understandings about the relationship between the gold grades, the Björkdal main fault, and an important marble horizon in an informative video that can be found here.
