St-Georges Eco-Mining reported assay results from a 2021 drill program at its Icelandic Thor gold project. The best hole (21-12) returned 25.23 g/t Au over 1.6m, however suffering 0.6m core loss, and drilled sub-parallel to the main gold-bearing structure. Other highlighted intercepts include 2.3m @1.65g/t Au in hole 21-02 and 5.2m @1.54 g/t Au in hole 21-15. While suffering some logical and weather-related issues, the program was successful in extending the known mineralization footprint to a depth of 130m and extending the strike length to 800m. The deposit remains open along strike and depth and the company notes that all to date intersected mineralization is oxidized. While the weathering at Thor makes exploration more difficult and future drilling will be conducted with a larger core size, the company notes, that, the oxidized nature of the mineralization might allow much easier and more eco-friendly material processing.

The company further advised that it received approval to gain access to certain geothermal energy producers’ operations to sample effluents from cooling ponds and outflow pipes of geothermal energy sites. St-George is investigating potential in-situ production of valuable metals from geothermal pipes and mineral tailings.
