Avira Resources announced the acquisition of the Puolalaki Ni-Cu-Co project in Sweden. Historic work at Puolalaki resulted in the discovery of gabbro hosted magmatic nickel sulfide mineralization, returning e.g. 24.1m @ 0.28% Ni, 0.22% Cu, 0.035% Co, including 10m @ 0.41% Ni, 0.23% Cu and 0.053% Co in drill hole PNO98004. The company notes that the discovery was never followed up, thus providing a great opportunity for high-powered geophysics testing the gabbro intrusion for more extensive sulfide mineralization. Notably, the project also hosts at least two zones of gold mineralization, with historic drilling returning e.g. 20.7m @ 1.1g/t Au, including 4.7m @ 3.2g/t Au in drill hole PUO11 and 4.4m @ 8.9g/t Au, including 2.1m @ 18.5g/t Au in drill hole PUO26. The gold mineralization is currently open along strike and at depth.
