Alicanto Minerals announced it will proceed with the Falun acquisition after due diligence resulted in the identification of numerous drill targets near the historic mine. Initial compilation of historic data resulted in the identification of significant gold and base metal mineralization outside the historic mining voids. The identified targets in the near mine environment include limestone-hosted replacement silver-zinc-lead mineralization, footwall copper-gold mineralization, and copper-gold-bismuth mineralized quartz veins.
The company is currently designing an exploration program for Falun and the Greater Falun project, including ground EM surveying and a drill program to test several anomalies between Falun and the Skyttgruvan-Näverbeg prospect as well as a step-out program at Skyttgruvan to follow up on a recently identified off hole conductor.
