Kingsrose Mining provided an update on the permitting process for exploration drilling at parts of its Penikat project in Finland. Following the review of a Natura 2000 Assessment prepared by Kingsrose, the Centre for Economic Development, Transport, and the Environment “determined that the proposed exploration drilling will not have a negative impact on the integrity of the Natura 2000 area”.

As a consequence, the exploration license awarding authority “TUKES” can now process the application for an exploration license in Area 1 of the Penikat project, while the company can apply for a derogation permit to operate within a conservation area.

If no appeals are lodged, the company hopes to receive the necessary permits to commence drilling in December 2024.
