Latitude 66 reported results from fieldwork at its Peräpohja Schist Belt project in northern Finland. Rock chip sampling at the Vinsa prospect returned extremely high Cu-Au assays from a historically known, mineralized quartz vein. (up to 11.3g/t Au & 20.1% Cu). Additional fieldwork resulted in the extension of the quartz vein to more than 1.3km along strike, with grades of up to 3.2g/t Au at its northern extent.
Fieldwork at the Petaja prospect was further successful in identifying a gold-mineralized, dolerite-quartz vein outcrop, returning 4.14g/t Au. The outcrop is located within a fold nose, placing it in a structurally favorable setting for gold mineralization. Going forward, the company plans additional fieldwork at Vinsa before following up with electromagnetic surveys at Vinsa and Petaja.
