Karelian Diamond Resources announced the identification of two diatreme-shaped electromagnetic anomalies at its Kuhmo Green diamond project in Finland. The anomalies were identified using a new semi-airborne electromagnetic survey technique developed by Finnish company Radai Oy. The identified anomalies are located up ice from highly anomalous basal till sampling locations and a green diamond discovered in previous years. They constitute a weak, but pipe-like conductivity anomaly and another smaller anomaly at depth and could represent clay weathered zones of kimberlites or lamproites. This electromagnetic anomaly also aligns with a low magnetic response. The company classifies this anomaly as high high-priority drill target with plans to test the potential diamond source in 2025.
