Avrupa Minerals provided an update on the Rauhala VMS deposit in the Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi mining district in central Finland.
The deposit was discovered in 1985 and subsequently drilled by Outokumpu, resulting in a historical resource of 880,500t? @ 1.6% Cu, 6.1% Zn, 1% Pb, 0.5 g/t Au, and 49 g/t Ag. Recent data compilation work by Avrupa’s partner, Akkerman Exploration, led to the recognition of a sediment-hosted massive sulfide deposit with an average thickness of 3.6 m, which has been drilled out over a 300 x 600 m area to a depth of 210 m. Going forward, the company plans to conduct additional geophysical surveys and follow-up drilling to determine whether the deposit continues both laterally and at depth, and whether it has an associated feeder zone.
