Playfair Mining announced an application for the North Osterdalen project to the east of the company’s RKV and Folldal projects. The new project contains three former copper/zinc mines and numerous sulfide occurrences, with the last systematic regional exploration recorded in the early 1980s. Following negative results from recent exploration at RKV and the interpretation that the observed, strong MMI copper values are the result of accumulation of acid-leached copper ions in topographic lows, the company decided to focus on deeper exploration by testing the continuation of historic mines and therefore decided to reduce its landholdings at RKV.
