A Visit to the Newest PalsaCenter in Sala, Sweden 🇸🇪 🛠️

I have been invited to visit Palsatech’s new exploration hub in Sala, Sweden. As I am currently on a quest to make all things related to exploration in the Nordics more accessible, I was quite happy to explore what exactly it is that the company has to offer. This article will be added to our free resources page, where we post all things useful for exploration in the Nordics.

About Palsatech

Founded in 2013, and now employing more than 80 people, Palsatech is a fast-growing service provider to the mineral exploration and mining industry. Originally established in Finland, Palsatech today has additional facilities and offices in Sweden, Serbia, and the Czech Republic, serving a wide range of junior and major companies.

What sets the company apart from most other consultancies in the region is the combination of its services with its PalsaCenters, local exploration and mining service hubs, that allow its clients to outsource the establishment of logging facilities, core processing, and storage.

After the successful implementation of centers in Kemi and Sodankylä in Finland as well as Pozarevac in Serbia, the company now opened its first facility in Sweden.

Located in the heart of Bergslagen, Sweden’s most historic mining district, and just about an hour’s drive from the capital, the new Sala PalsaCenter is intended to serve all exploration and mining companies operating in the southern half of Sweden and Norway, with several clients already making use of the facility.

To date, the facility in Sala has a single logging room equipped with Palsatech’s in-house logging tables but plans for a second room are already underway. The center also features storage and core cutting facilities, allowing for the processing of the core in a streamlined manner, directly after it leaves the logging table.

As every exploration campaign is different, the company offers tailor-made packages, adapting the provided services to the customer’s needs. The available services include everything from meter marking, RQD logging, sampling, core cutting, and core storage, to name a few (please check with the company for a comprehensive list of services). In addition, the company now also offers a wide range of geological services, such as exploration campaign planning and management.

In addition to renting out the established logging facilities, Palsatech also offers its clients the option to establish new service centers virtually anywhere in the world if the need arises.

So, before you go down the road of building a core shed yourself for your next project, make sure to check with Palsatech to explore if they can provide a less time-consuming and more efficient alternative.
