Kingrose Mining provided an update on the permitting process for its Penikat project in Finland. The permitting process for the project is more complex due to Natura 2000 sites in the permit area.
The company is currently applying to get the necessary permits for two sub-areas, namely Area 1 and Area 2-5. For Area 1, the company is currently waiting for a decision from the administrative courts concerning an appeal lodged against the exploration permit previously granted by Tukes (See flowchart below).
For areas 2-5, the company lodged its Natura 2000 report in December 2024, with a statement from the regional environmental regulatory (ELY) due in mid-2025.
